THE TRANSPORT MODE MATTERS

Air and ocean.
What actually changes.

The Incoterm allocates obligations. The mode determines equipment, documents, capacity and handling. We review both decisions together.

Air

Cargo travels by aircraft. It is assessed when timing, value or urgency justify the service and the goods are accepted.

Transport document
Air waybill or AWB; house and master waybills may apply.
How freight charges are assessed
Actual and volumetric weight inform chargeable weight. The operator confirms the divisor, minimums, rounding and surcharges.
Preparation and handling
It requires acceptance of each piece’s dimensions and weight, security checks and review of restricted goods.
Customs
Flying does not replace customs procedures. Document readiness and releases affect delivery.
Explore this service

Ocean

Cargo travels by vessel. Full-container, shared-container or special-equipment options depend on volume and goods.

Transport document
Bill of lading or sea waybill, depending on the shipment.
How freight charges are assessed
FCL is quoted by equipment; LCL considers volume or weight, minimums and origin and destination charges.
Preparation and handling
Terminal and documentation cut-offs, port handling and possible transshipments apply. FCL and LCL have different receiving processes.
Customs
Ocean transport does not remove customs requirements. Permits, documents and releases are checked for each country.
